Someone reads it and calls you back, usually within a business day. That first conversation is short: what you are painting, roughly when you want it done, and whether anything about the property makes the job unusual.
Then we come and look. Estimating paint off a photograph is guesswork, so we walk the property, measure it, and check the things that decide the price rather than assuming them. You get an itemized written scope with the prep already in it, and no obligation to book once you have it.
If the honest answer is that you need less work than you asked for, that is what the estimate will say. It is a cheaper conversation to have before the drop cloths come out than after.
If you are a general contractor, property manager or facilities lead, email is usually faster than the form. Send drawings, a finish schedule or a submittal package and we will price against it rather than estimating from a description. Tell us the constraint that actually matters, because it is normally not the paint.
The useful details are the ones that change the labor rather than the color: rooms and rough sizes, ceiling heights, whether anything is wallpapered now, and whether previous coats are peeling anywhere. None of it is required to get a visit booked, it just means the first number you see is closer to the last one.
